I had a small indoor puppy and he wouldn%26#039;t stop peeing on my carpet. It%26#039;s been a few months since he has been allowed in that area....but I don%26#039;t know what the best way to get rid of the odor would be. I have tried the sprays and the deodorizer powder....
What%26#039;s the best way to get rid of puppy pee odor in carpet?
Besides the pet products for carpets; I remember using baking soda on the carpet..just lightly, leaving it on for awhile .then vacuum it up. Baking soda does take away the odor, I think. Good luck! Congrats on the puppy. ;)
Reply:If you can find the dried up spots, spray them with a mix of vinegar(2-3 tbsp), a squirt of dish soap and water. For a new puppy and housebreaking, soak up as much pee as you can with paper towels then saturate with above mixture and again soak up with towels. this assists in housebreaking because puppies (and older dogs) go back to old spots to pee.
Reply:It is almost impossible because the smell goes all the way to the pad under the carpet and into the foundation concrete or wood. If you can clean the carpet and pull it up so you can replace the pad ot at least pour on some bleach to pad and underflooring.
Reply:ODOBAN....get it at Sams wholesale. It deodorizes, stain remover, mildistat, laundry refresher, etc. I would mix it with something that works on an enzyme action like natures miracle or the four paws stain and odor remover to make sure he doesn%26#039;t use the same area.
Reply:oust......fabreeze some kind of carpet cleaner
Reply:firstly clean it up right away!!!! then just go to any pet store they have a pet urine deoderizor ... usually its in liquid spray form, just follow directions on bottle
Reply:Rent a carpet shampoo machine and buy some of the odor removing liquid that is available. If it were cat pee, the only solution is buy a new carpet but dog pee is manageable.
Reply:They make special cleaners especially for this. You can find them at Petco or any pet store. you can even get them through your vet.
Reply:Nature%26#039;s Miracle, or some other %26quot;enzyme%26quot; product.
Reply:Good old vinegar and water :)
