Long hair dog smells in summer?

I have a new long haired yorkie, she loves to go outside now that it is getting warmer, yet when she comes in she smells really bad. I bathe her weekly, I have purchased a deodorizer spray, yet she still stinks when she comes inside, she isn%26#039;t outside for more than an hour at a time %26amp; the groomer advised I should not bathe her more than weekly because it can dry the skin out, any suggestions?

That%26#039;s just the great outdoors you smell on her. Kinda foul, isn%26#039;t it? my male chihuahua, (short haired) stinks when he comes inside, even if he was only out there for 10 minutes. It seems some dogs just pick up that odor more than others, as my other 2 aren%26#039;t so bad. As someone else suggested, some puppy perfume, or patience while she airs out.
Reply:You should shave her she will still stink but probly not as bad.
Reply:have your vet check the ears and teeth as well as skin
Reply:SHAVE HER FOR THE summer only
Reply:Dogs are going to smell after being outside in the heat (just like humans). My suggestion would be to sit with her outside on a shaded patio calm her down and let her just air out (you could read a book, knit, etc), then bring her in so it%26#039;s not such an overpowering smell. They also make puppy perfume you can use.
Reply:Dogs naturally have an odour as well as from being outside, you should invest in some bath wipes to wipe inbetween outtings.
Reply:Find out what she%26#039;s rolling in and remove it from your yard.
Reply:They have puppy perfume. Its safe on their hair and it smells good. Or they have different kinds of sprays just for your pets. I spray my dog when she%26#039;s been outside too. Look for them in any pet store.
Reply:....the hair naturally picks up the outdoor scent...it should go away after a while unless she is rolling in something...mine rolled in dead catfish once.....make sure she gets plenty of good omega 3s to help with dry skin and make a nice coat....the doggy spray I use is the same as the groomer%26#039;s and is pretty strong.....lasts awhile....last resort......
